There are 18,000 of them from all over the world, producing 600
acres of beautifully landscaped countryside. This makes Westonbirt
one of the finest tree collections in the world today. However it is
the combination of wild flowers, fungi, birds and animals as well as
the trees themselves that make Westonbirt such a special place to so
many people. This rich diversity of plant and animal life makes

Old Golf Course
Just out the door and turn left.
The Old Course was originally established in 1889 and was one of the
earliest clubs to be formed in the West of England. Golf has been
enjoyed on the common from that date onwards and despite two World
Wars The Club is set on Minchinhampton Common, an unspoiled area of
outstanding natural beauty, close to the picturesque village of
Amberley and the small market town of Minchinhampton.
The area is steeped in history - local legend suggests that the

VIII.
